…Not that I consider any of the people reading – or indeed entering – as pets, I just found the title amusing. And it would be an awesome name for a big-alliance-run lottery for their little minion alliances. Disagree if you dare, sir. If you dare.

After a somewhat silly start to the new year, I managed to find some time to – and some help (Thank you, Ciarente!) with judging. And, with some careful stack-splitting, the prizes are all up on contract now for everyone that entered. That’s right; everyone that submitted and entry has got something on contract. Admittedly, the turnout was less than I would have liked, but I guess I run the risk of people not telling their in-game buddies if it means them potentially winning more stuff. A failure on my part as the organiser, I guess. But that’s neither here nor there.

The Top Three

Honestly, these three stood out a long way for me, and it was certainly reflected in the points distribution. Also, they are all somewhere conveniently in different mediums. I have learned from this exercise that I’m a very harsh judge!

First place went to Daisy Blossom. Even though she’s a naughty pirate, she has some mad skillz with the Lego. Just take a look:

Xmas Rifter!

If you're wondering, the required 'slogan' is displayed on the Photobucket album where this image originally resided. :)

How awesome is that? Granted most of her points were for the EVE-content, but its still supercool! :D

Next up is a video from Kal Torn. I was really impressed with the combination of Christmas carol Silent Night, and the Incursion trailer footage, which made for some quite chilling viewing. I’ll try and embed it here so you can see:

Sure, there’s some issues with distorted ‘splodey sounds and some small issues with overlapping scenes, but really impressive stuff as far as I’m concerned. :)

Third one to mention was a little poem by Max Ursa, which is a play on The Twelve Days of Christmas, titled The twelve days of festive piracy in EVE:

On the first day of Christmas, CCP gave to me:
A hundred million bounty.

On the second day of Christmas, CCP gave to me:
Two fitted wolves,
And a hundred million bounty.

On the third day of Christmas, CCP gave to me:
Three gate camps,
Two fitted wolves,
And a hundred million bounty.

On the fourth day of Christmas, CCP gave to me:
Four mining hulks,
Three gate camps,
Two fitted wolves,
And a hundred million bounty.

On the Fifth day of Christmas, CCP gave to me:
Five implant sets,
Four mining hulks,
Three gate camps,
Two fitted wolves,
And a hundred million bounty.

On the sixth day of Christmas, CCP gave to me:
Six mission runners,

On the nineth day of Christmas, CCP gave to me:
Nine ransoms paying,

On the tenth day of Christmas, CCP gave to me:

And a hundred million bounty.

On the eleventh day of Christmas, CCP gave to me:
Eleven pods a popping,

Nine ransoms paying,
Eight plexes dropping,
Seven tears a flowing,
Six mission runners,
Five implant sets,
Four mining hulks,
Three gate camps,
Two fitted wolves,
And a hundred million bounty.

On the twelth day of Christmas, CCP gave to me:
Twelve mods O’heating,
Eleven pods a popping,
Ten Drakes a baiting,
Nine ransoms paying,
Eight plexes dropping,
Seven tears a flowing,
Six mission runners,
Five implant sets,
Four mining hulks,
Three gate camps,
Two fitted wolves,
And a hundred million bounty.

Fiiiiiiive implant seeeets. :D

That’s it for the high-rollers, but here’s the other entries:

  • Keldar Anassi – Good prose, but no Xmas stuff, sadly.
  • Tacit Malice – A postcard (I wrote ‘postcake’ there…) heavy on the Christmas, light on the EVE.
  • noise – New chargen character with a Santa-hat. Very silly. :)
  • Tyekanek – Another Santa hat, this time on an Echelon. You know, I think its actually an improvement to the ship’s looks!
  • Duncan Feldane – And a second card/postcard. This time the inverse of the other: Heavy on the EVE, light on the Xmas.

So ends my first Christmas competition. Will there be one this year? Your guess is as good as mine right now.

Blog Banter entry coming tomorrow, and a new Industry Character post in a few days!
